Banksia Unit Keeps Safe

On Tuesday, March 29th, Banksia Unit was visited by police officers Andrew and Maddy.  They talked to us about how to recognise a police officer ‘s uniform and their equipment.  Dogs and horses help them too. The most important job that police officers do is to help us and keep us safe.  We learnt what an emergency is and how to ring 000 for help. Then we had the fire fighters from Elizabeth station, Joe, Craig, Byron and Justin taught us some important fire safety rules:

  • Get out of your house and stay out if there is a fire.
  • Get down low, and go, go, go!
  • If your clothes are on fire – Stop! Cover! Drop! Roll!
  • Does your family have a smoke alarm and a fire plan?
